Page speed of a website is now a ranking factor for mobile searches.
This is called as a “Speed Update” by Google.. Speed Update officially announced yesterday on 10th July worldwide.
Now the Speed Update is here —
Previously, page speed was only a ranking factor in desktop searches.
But as from yesterday it affects your mobile ranking pages also.. And this consider as the faster the better.
Shaving a few microseconds is not a fast site and it will not lead to a ranking improvement.
The Speed Update will only affect sites that are noticeably slow. Meaning when user has to wait several seconds or more for the time to take content to load on a mobile device.
Relevancy is key, as Google always says. So if a slow loading page happens to contain the most relevant content, according to a user’s query, then it may still rank favourably in search results.
